Stuart is a world-renowned biophysicist. A foreign associate of the French Academy of Science, his academic curriculum includes professorships at Cornell University (NY, USA), University of Geneva (Switzerland), ENS (Paris, France) and the Collège de France. Stuart also has start-up experience as co-founder of a publicly listed biotech company.
Pierre Chaumat
Chief Executive Officer
A seasoned veteran of start-ups and larger companies in life sciences, founder of two successful businesses and director of large R&D teams at Bio-Rad and other organizations, Pierre brings a broad experience in both science and business management. After 2 years as VP Chief Manufacturing Officer, he took on the mantle of CEO to lead Scipio bioscience in its evolution towards new markets and the expansion of its range of novel single-cell applications.
Sahar Sabetnia
Chief Business Development Officer
An Alumnus of Trinity College Dublin and University of Glasgow, Sahar joined Scipio in 2021 with over 19 years of experience in Life Sciences, twelve years of which have been dedicated to leading commercialization of novel innovations, building collaborative partnerships between industry and not for profit organizations, leading the formation of startups and driving their successful growth.
Barbara André
Director of Bioinformatics
Barbara has 10+ years of experience in software R&D for biomedical applications.
With an engineering background in computer science and applied mathematics, she received her PhD in medical image computing from Mines Paris Tech. She contributed to innovative prototypes and led the development of sustainable software products for the industry, especially in the domain of genetic analysis.
Jun Komatsu
Director of Wet-lab R&D
Jun has 10+ years of experience in biotech R&D and is an expert in structural and functional analysis of DNA molecules for genetic testing and biomedical research. With a background in general engineering and industrial chemistry, he received his PhD on the subject of micromanipulation of biological molecules in an electrostatics laboratory of the Toyohashi University of Technology (Japan).
Nicolas Fernandez
Director of Innovation
Nicolas has 10+ years of experience in soft matter physics and led the development of several DNA analysis consumables. Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole des Ponts alumnus, he received his PhD on suspension rheology from ETH Zürich (Switzerland).
Abdoulaye Diallo
Sales Administrator
With previous professional experience as a sales admin. supervisor at Raysearch Laboratories (cancer care treatment), Abdoulaye joined Scipio in nov2021 after graduating from Nanterre University with a Master in Sales and Marketing. Over the past 7 years, he gained and consolidated a broad set of skills from management, sales, event organization to project supervision. Today at Scipio, his diverse skillset enables him to contribute in the best way possible to the company growth by handling not only sales admin tasks but also all the other missions he is involved with.
Anaïs Vayaboury
Assistant Scientist
Anaïs is preparing a Biomedical Research degree at the School of Applied Biology of Paris (ESTBA). Currently intern at Scipio bioscience as assistant scientist, Anaïs contributes actively to our project by using both her theoretical and practical skills, as she discovers the start-up ecosystem.
Antoine Graindorge
Senior R&D Project leader
Antoine has 16+ years of experience in RNA biology, investigating the role of RNA molecules in the regulation of gene expression. He obtained his PhD in Rennes where he studied the control of embryonic mRNAs expression. He pursued post-doctoral work focusing on post-transcriptional mRNA regulations at the CRG in Barcelona, and then on the roles and mechanisms of action of long noncoding RNAs at the Institut Curie, Paris.
Anu Kumar
Lab Manager
Anu leads the internal logistics which allows Scipio’s R&D department to operate at full capacity. Holding a Bachelors in Neuroscience from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville (USA), she worked and trained as a Lab Manager and Research Technician at the Institut du Cerveau (Paris) before joining Scipio in early 2022. Her previous experience in cellular and molecular biology allows her to effectively work at the intersection of management and research.
Arthur Teboul
IT Manager
Arthur is taking care of Scipio's IT & IS processes, whether it is to build a network architecture from scratch, or to assist the business to optimize the way they work thanks to IT. He has 10 years of experience in the field of corporate IT. Arthur has worked in IT services companies, in demanding contexts (politics, education, record companies) and in international environments.
Azadeh Saffarian
R&D Bioinformatics Project leader
Azadeh holds a PhD in Computer Science and Bioalgorithmics applied to RNA secondary structures prediction from the University Lille1 INRIA. She pursued 7 years of postdoctoral research at Inserm and Pasteur Institute in Paris. She developed her expertise in "omics" and the development of algorithms for HLA genes.
Celian Opigez
Technical Assistant in IT
Célian is training to become a web / mobile developer and is looking to develop his skills and learn as much as possible. Very interested in computer science in general and more particularly in programming, he aims to be a full-stack and versatile developer in order to succeed in his professional life.
Damien Ulveling
Bioinformatics Project Leader
Damien holds a PhD in bioinformatics from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers de Paris.
He graduated with a master's degree in cellular and molecular biology and works at the interface between bioinformatics and biologists.
His experience includes working with research teams, as well as within the ICM's iCONICS platform on data analysis from NGS sequencing and genotyping.
Dilyana Dimitrova
R&D Project Leader
Dilyana is a molecular and cell biologist with a strong expertise in RNA biology. She completed a PhD at Sorbonne University where she worked on RNA modifications and gene expression regulation through the small non-coding RNA pathways; she also studied their relationship to neurodevelopmental diseases and published reviews on the subject. Dilyana joined the Scipio R&D team as a Project Leader in November of 2020.
Elodie Baldivia
Research Engineer
After a Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology and Physiology (BCP) in Reims, Elodie joined the Molecular Oncohematology Laboratory at the Necker Enfants-Malades Institute (INEM Paris 15) for the development of the droplet digital PCR. She then joined the genomic sequencing platform of the Epigenetics and Environment Laboratory (LEE) of the CEA in Evry, France, where she participated in the automation of many protocols. She joined the Scipio R&D team in March 2021.
Florence Bonetto
Senior Digital Marketing Manager
Florence has over 15 years of experience in marketing including 10 years in the biotechnology industry. She has a strong experience in Digital marketing, Marketing and she also has Graphic design skills.
Florence has a Master's degree in Marketing and a Graphic design degree as well. She lived in Cambridge, UK for a total of 12 years and moved back to France recently.
Frédéric Guerin
Research Engineer
Frederic has over 10 years of experience in biology research laboratories in both private and academic environments. After receiving his Master's degree in Proteomics (Lille, France), he worked for an oncology drug discovery start up. He then joined a fundamental research CNRS team and worked on genome plasticity in ciliates for five years. He also worked for a DNA-based diagnostics company, and then in an immunology genetic disease INSERM research team.
Hélène Eckert
R&D Project leader
Hélène has over 10 years of experience in molecular biology. After receiving her M.S. in Plant Genetics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (USA), she worked on plant genetic engineering at Iowa State University (USA) and Bayer Crop Science (Lyon, France). She then joined the Curie Institute in Paris, where she spent 6 years studying long noncoding RNAs in vertebrate development.
Léa Cathaly
Assistant scientist
Léa is preparing a Professional degree in Pharmaceuticals, Cosmetics, and Health, with specialization in Biotechnologies, at the Higher Technical School of the Laboratory in Paris (ETSL). She joined Scipio bioscience as work-study assistant scientist and participates to the development of our kit.
Mariam Guirguis
Technical Assistant In Marketing and Communication
Mariam is preparing an engineering degree at Sup’Biotech and will graduate in 2023. As part of an apprenticeship she joined the Scipio team at the end of 2020. Her polyvalent training enables her to work as an assistant in marketing and communication.
Mathieu Guinin
Full-stack Developer
Mathieu has 8 years of experience in software development. He worked on a wide range of applications from websites to physical signal analysis and dedicated hardwares. Aside form his bachelor’s degree in Math and Computer Science at University Paris Descartes, he dabbled with physics and electronic in ENSEEIHT Toulouse and completed intensive applied programing courses with school 42 in Paris.
Mbéssi Gakosso
Quality Manager
Mbéssi has previously led the quality management system for more than 10 years at Fluigent, a microfluidics company. A graduate with a master degree in quality management, he is bringing with him a wealth of knowledge and experience on ISO standards and European regulations for user safety (CEE).
Olivier Caille
Senior Full-stack Developer
Olivier has an engineering degree from Supélec and 12 years of experience in web application development, both in start-ups and in large organizations. During these years, he worked in teams on high-volume web projects with complex technical constraints. He joined Scipio to support the development of Cytonaut.
Raya Poncin
R&D Project leader
Raya received her Ph.D. from the University of Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier, where she carried out research on biopolymers for tissue engineering and cell therapy applications.
She graduated previously from the Paris Institute of Bioengineering and obtained a Master's degree in polymer science from University Paris-Est Créteil.
Sara Majello
Research Engineer
Sara has 8 years of experience in molecular biology. She completed a MSc in Genetics and Molecular Biology at Sapienza University of Rome (Italy), specializing in RNA biology. She continued studying long non-coding RNAs at the Curie Institute in Paris. She then joined the Pasteur Institute (Paris), where she worked on the emergence of hematopoietic stem cells during embryonic development.
Stanislas Lipin
R&D Bioinformatician
Stanislas completed an M.S. in medical physics at Joseph Fourier University in Grenoble followed by an M.S. bioinformatics at Paris-Saclay University. He started his career at Lumex Instruments in Russia as research engineer for 3 years. He joined Scipio bioscience in 2018 as a bioinformatics engineer and focuses on single-cell RNA sequencing data analysis.
Thomas Tisseuil
Software Customer Support Specialist
Thomas has 15 years of professional experience in Medical Customer Service for different medical device companies. He has extensive technical support experience in a broad array of environments (hospitals, operating rooms, laboratories, research institutes, private practices).
He joined Scipio bioscience in 2022 to develop the communication between the Cytonaut software developing team at Scipio and its end users to further improve UX.
Vivian Schindler
Office Manager
Vivian supervises our administrative projects and human resources, as well as accounting and general services. Polyglot and polyvalent, our team and partners benefit from her years of international experience. Skilled coordinator, she will respond to the inquiries of all our stakeholders.
Vivien Moretto
Lead Cloud Architect
A Telecom Engineer graduate, Vivien has 10 years of experience in IT industry. He started as a Java Developer and was promoted as an IT Architect.
He is experienced in different contexts (Security, Banking, Energy ) and worked for an IDaas editor. Vivien joined Scipio in July 2021 to manage the infrastructure and set up DevOps practices.
Wilko Duprez
Head of Communications
With a scientific background including a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Queensland and two post-docs, Wilko turned to journalism graduating from Imperial College London in scientific communication and using his newfound skills as far away as Japan. After working as a scientific VR director in Denmark for many years, Wilko joined Scipio mid-2020 as its new Head of Communications.
Yann Zhong
R&D Bioinformatician & Junior Software Application Specialist
Yann graduated from Imperial College London in 2019 with a M.Eng in biomedical engineering. Having a keen interest in the field of health
tech, he then completed an M2 in bioinformatics at Sorbonne University most recently. With his adaptability and multicultural
background being his greatest strengths, he joined Scipio as a
bioinformatician and junior software application specialist.
Yannick Fourne
R&D Bioinformatician
After graduating from a higher education degree in biotechnology, Yannick worked for 7 years for the company Genomic Vision. In parallel he studied to complete an engineering degree in bioinformatics, leading him to work on phosphorylation networks in the department of human genomics at Chicago University. He resumed his work at Genomic Vision afterwards, before joining Scipio in 2020.
